Listening!

Today room 1 looked at what listening looks like and sounds like. Some ideas are:

Looks Like:

Eyes on speaker

Hands in our lap

Legs Crossed

Hands raised when you need to speak or ask a question

The ‘Give me Five’

 

Sounds Like:

one voice at a time

no calling out

inside voices

appropriate language like ‘thank you’ and ‘please’

no talking over the speaker

Students modeled listening skills by having a friend describe an image and then drawing what they heard from their friend. Here’s evidence of some great listening skills:
